Shiitake 30% — Lentinula edodes

History and use Shiitake is an edible wood-growing mushroom with a long history in Japan and China. Its name is linked to the shii tree and traditional cultivation on logs. Today it is cultivated worldwide. Cultivation and fruiting body Its brown cap often has pale scales and gills underneath. The fungus grows on hardwood. We use only the fruiting body for our extract, with no grain substrate added as filler. Natural constituents Shiitake naturally contains polysaccharides, glucans, proteins, amino acids, sterols and other compounds. Scientific studies describe eritadenine, ergosterol and lentinan. Their presence in mushrooms does not establish their concentration in every extract. Lentinan and beta-glucans Lentinan is a particular branched beta-glucan fraction, not a synonym for total polysaccharides. Studies on purified or injected lentinan cannot be equated with effects of these capsules. This extract is not separately standardized for lentinan or beta-glucans. Extraction and standardization Extraction releases compounds from fruiting-body tissue. Water extraction can recover water-soluble polysaccharides; other methods yield different profiles. We standardize this extract to at least 30% total polysaccharides. This is a measured composition specification, not proof of medical efficacy. Quality and packaging The extract is supplied in plant-based pullulan capsules made from organic tapioca, without HPMC. An independent German laboratory checks raw materials before processing; they are not irradiated during manufacture. Each jar contains 60 capsules. Directions Daily use: 2–3 capsules with water, preferably on an empty stomach, about 30 minutes before or 90 minutes after food. A personalized 4–6-capsule regimen should only be used under individual professional guidance. Precautions Food supplement, not a medicine or substitute for a varied diet.
